While Mary Shelley was influenced by many people including family members and friends
involved in similar literary movements, she also has influenced several writers all in her own. Of course first to be mentioned
must be her husband Percy Shelley. Together they both shared simialr aspects in their writings and simialr beliefs. However,
Mary influenced him in ways that she could only have done as a young teenager.
One of the way sthat Shelley influenced many writers was not only through her popular
novel "Frankenstein" but also through other writings written later on in her life. These writings such as "Warbeck," "Lodore,"
and "Falkner" which provide an insight into her life and that she also used to change other peoples perceptions of herself.
Also, when searching on the web for others authors that she influenced some interesrting
things showed up. Many other writers have taken her work and removed it from its context and used that as their inspiration.
In such writings as done by Rachel Woolley these kinds of analyses can be seen.
In other examples, that are not nearly as closely linked, the writings that Mary Shelley
published have opened the doors and provided other opportunites for some of the more contemporary authors. An example would
be Arthur C. Clarke who wrote "A Space Oddyssey." Although she was not the first of her kind, she did make it much easier
for such writings to gain popularity and fame all dute to the success of her first novel "Frankenstein."
